Bakhmutova, Irina V. (bakh@math.nsc.ru) 1956 –1960 Novosibirsk Music College. 1960 – 1963 piano teacher in music school, accompanist in Novosibirsk State Conservatory. 1963 – 1968 Novosibirsk State University, Master’s in Mathematical Linguistics. 1968–1990 Researcher at the Novosibirsk State University. In 1990 Ms. Irina joined the Laboratory of Data Analysis, Institute of Mathematics, Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Novosibirsk, where she is currently a Researcher . She is an expert in the computer analysis of musical texts and has published over 40 papers.

Gusev, Vladimir D. (gusev@math.nsc.ru) 1958 – 1964 Moscow Physics Technical Institute. 1964 Master’s in Physics. 1971 PhD (Russian equivalent) in Technical Sciences. In 1964 Dr. Gusev joined the Laboratory of Data Analysis, Institute of Mathematics, Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Novosibirsk, where he is currently a Senior Researcher. He is an expert in the analysis of symbolic sequences in different domains (natural languages, genetic codes, musical texts ) and has published over 70 papers, most of them devoted to cryptography and the analysis ot texts with unknown structure (for example, genetic codes and ancient Russian neume hymns).

Titkova, Tatiana N. (titkova@math.nsc.ru) 1958 – 1964 Tomsk State University. 1964 Master’s in Mathematics. 1983 PhD (Russian equivalent) in Technical Sciences. In 1964 Dr. Titkova joined the Laboratory of Data Analysis, Institute of Mathematics, Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Novosibirsk, where she is currently a Senior Researcher. She is an expert in the processing of symbolic sequences and genetic information and has published over 50 papers. She is also the developer of a music-oriented software package.
